Prickly Relationship

An honest and funny portrait of a man whose passion for prickly things is as strong as his religious belief. This documentary is about an 80 year-old man’s life-long obsession with collecting Cacti varieties from around the world. Stephen’s passion started during the war when he was just 6 years old, and ever since then he’s collected thousands of species, carrying his ever-expanding collection from pillar to post through his life. The story follows Stephen around his cacti greenhouses as he reflects on a rather ‘prickly’ relationship, and ponders on what will become of the collection when he’s too old to tend to it.
